Growing up in a small town in Michigan, Josh Parsons spent his youth playing guitar in church, rock shows, and for anyone who asked. After an 8 year stint in Indiana, where he attended college and began touring and recording full time, he and his wife Sarah moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2010.
He spent the next few years playing guitar for multiple artists and bands, while also serving at his local church, Grace Center, in Franklin, Tennessee, where he played guitar on a weekly basis with local worship leaders and with visiting artists. He was hired as the full-time worship director at Grace Center in January of 2015.
In 2019, Josh was invited by Steffany Gretzinger to play on her record “Forever Amen." Over the next few years he would have the honor to contribute to more records by Steffany, Jason Ingram, Amanda Cook, and many more, all while continuing in his role as worship director at Grace Center.
But after almost 30 years of playing guitar for others, Josh felt an invitation from the Lord to bring him an offering that was all his own. In 2023 Josh took some time off and recorded his first solo record, “The Wind and The Waves Volume 1.” Josh’s deep relationship with Jesus and decades spent stewarding the presence of God in worship was the foundation upon which he crafted sounds, textures and melodies intended to bring the listener into the presence of Jesus with ease.
Josh and his wife Sarah live in Franklin, Tennessee with their two kids, June and Jack.
